About the author
Jan Sutton (Dip CPC, CAES) is the author of numerous personal development books including Learning To Counsel (with William Stewart) and Healing the Hurt Within: Understand Self-injury and Self-harm, and Heal the Emotional Wounds, How To Books Ltd; 3Rev Ed edition (12 Nov 2007). Additionally she is the founder of SIARI (Self-Injury and Related Issues) Web site which has been online since 2001. Jan has recently retired as an independent counsellor after more than two decades working in the counselling profession. However, she remains passionate about the topic of self-injury, and is frequently cited as an expert in the field by the media. She continues to be active in raising awareness about self-injury via training workshops and conference presentations.
